A native of Plainsboro, NJ, Hannah Lohr-Pearson is pursuing a Masters of Music from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM).  She began playing cello at the age of four, taking lessons at the Westminster Conservatory of Music in Princeton, NJ.  Hannah completed her undergraduate degrees in Music and English at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she was principal cellist of the UNC Symphony Orchestra and winner of the 2017 UNC Concerto Competition.  In the spring of 2016, she spent the semester in Vienna, Austria, studying chamber music and cello performance with Josef Luitz, former professor at Die Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien. 

 Hannah has performed in masterclasses for Johannes Moser, Anne Martindale Williams, The Pacifica Quartet, and Gil Shaham, among others.  Her summer festival experiences include Garth Newel’s Emerging Artist Fellowship Program, the National Orchestral Institute, and the Brevard Music Festival.  Hannah currently studies with Ilya Finkelshteyn, principal cellist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
